Natalie's Story

Natalie received her Master’s degree in Nutrition from the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, OR. She believes in using a holistic approach for each client, with the goal of improving overall health rather than focusing on fixing one problem. She offers nutritional counseling, meal planning, and recipe development that will cater to each clients personal needs.

Having worked as the Cookbook Assistant for Run Fast Eat Slow, Natalie helped develop and test whole-food based recipes designed for athletes, working alongside Chef Elyse Kopecky and world-class marathoner Shalane Flanagan. One of her own original recipes was also published in the cookbook.  She is now the Cookbook Manager for book two!

With a lifelong passion for food and cooking, Natalie focuses on updating comfort food with nourishing, high quality ingredients, as well as developing innovative and flavorful recipes of her own. She focuses on using local, seasonal ingredients to get the most nutritional benefits out of your food. Natalie finds that feeding people delicious, comforting, and nourishing dishes is one of the most satisfying and enriching things to do. This passion has lead her to start Natalie Cooks so that she can share her love of food and nutrition with the community. 

Natalie offers recipe development and photography, personal chef services, nutritional counseling, personalized meal plans, and cooking classes.
